Semaglutide & Tirzepatide
Semaglutide and Tirzepatide offer the convenience of weekly weight loss injections that you can administer in your own home. During your initial consultation, we will carefully examine your medical history to determine the suitability of these treatments for you. Following the consultation, you will receive a prescription for lab work, which can be conducted locally with the help of our provided list of local labs. If you have undergone bloodwork in the last 3 months, it may also be deemed acceptable. Once your blood work results are available, you can schedule a second consultation where we will guide you through the injection technique and discuss the dosing schedule.
Semaglutide's potential for weight loss is related to its action as a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) RA and is a natural hormone that plays a role in regulating blood sugar levels. When Semaglutide activates GLP-1 receptors, several physiological effects occur, contributing to weight loss: reduced appetite, slowed gastric emptying, increased energy expenditure, and improved insulin sensitivity.
Tirzepatide acts on both GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) and GLP-1 receptors as a receptor agonist which helps lower blood sugar. Tirzepatide signals the brain that the stomach is full and slows the movement of food through the stomach, resulting in eating less and feeling full longer. Tirzepatide has been found to be more effective in weight loss, especially in patients who have a plateau in their weight loss with Semaglutide or have more side effects.
